![]() I started my hike at the upper (eastern) parking area and hiked the Point Overlook Trail and looked at the historical markers. They are very poorly marked…especially the Lookout Ridge Scenic Trail, The Meadow Trail, and the Little Pond loop Trail. The paths are a mix of crushed stone and some dirt portions…but in good shape. I think that sometimes you can wade across the river to get to the steps up to the point overlook trail, but not the day I was there…the river was raging. The lower or western parking lot is a big picnic area next to the river. It is at river level and gives good access to the river. The middle parking area is right after the steel bridge and is not marked. The upper or eastern parking area gives to access to the most trails and some of the historical markers and displays. The park is built around a ridge that comes to a point meeting at the conjunction of Paine Creek and the Grand River. ![]() ![]() The river was quite high, so I did not see any fisherman and only encountered one person on all the trails. I went to Indian Point Park on a sunny Thursday morning in Late October.
